Springfield Tech Week mayoral proclamation announcement during STC Squared conference

Inaugural Springfield Tech Week Recognized by Mayor Proclamation

Springfield’s first Tech Week is here, and I’m proud to see the region step into something I have wanted us to be able to do for a long time: make the technology community visible at city scale.

Springfield has had the ingredients for years: software developers, founders, cybersecurity teams, healthcare technology, manufacturing technology, design talent, educators, students, and operators quietly building serious things. What we need is a frame large enough for the community to recognize itself.

Springfield Tech Week is becoming that frame. Tours, conference sessions, student events, partner gatherings, networking, competitions, and civic recognition are all pointing in the same direction: this work is part of Springfield’s identity.

Mayor Ken McClure’s proclamation recognizing Springfield Tech Week during STC Squared gives public language to something many of us have been building toward behind the scenes.

The proclamation matters, but the deeper achievement is coordination: people, institutions, companies, schools, volunteers, and civic partners moving in the same direction long enough to create a new annual platform for the region.

That is the kind of work I respect most. It is design at the ecosystem level: not a screen, not a brand, not a single event, but a structure that lets more people find their place inside the story.
